Potpourri

Melrose (5-0) hosts Stoneham tomorrow in a Middlesex League game.

The legendary New Zealand All Blacks rugby team has a motto, "leave the jersey in a better place." "Wayne Smith, the All Blacks assistant coach says "Exceptional results demand exceptional circumstances". The All Black culture of humility and openness allows them to keep reinventing themselves in the face of new challenges, whilst never losing sight of their binding vision - to be the best. All team members are invited to offer solutions to the problems and challenges they face - a key advantage that allows them to build sustainable performance and above all to build character."

The All Blacks believe in shared leadership, a powerful culture borrowing from Maori heritage, and humility as they collectively "sweep the shed", cleaning the locker room after their games. "Leave the jersey in a better place."

Marissa Cataldo (5), MHS 2016, plays for Emmanuel. Cataldo has the second most kills on the Saints.

The strength of the league predominates in the Liberty Division this season. Reading (now 3-1) lost to the Lancers (5-0) at Longmeadow on Saturday.

One of the team's weekend assignments was to read two chapters in Jay Bilas' book, "Toughness", expanded from his original ESPN article
