ML Rolls in Sweet Sixteen

Melrose handed Burlington its departure pass with a 3-0 first round victory. The Lady Raiders advance to host always tough Bishop Fenwick in a quarterfinal game scheduled for Tuesday.

On Melrose's side, Stoneham upset Marblehead (16-4) to face Weston and the Ardila family. 

On the opposite side, Belmont faces AC and Winchester hosts Hamilton-Wenham. 

Four teams in the final eight speaks well to improvement in the Middlesex League. Belmont is a substantial underdog but the other three ML teams have reasonable opportunity to move forward.
